Genus: Lethrinops
Type locality: Lake Malawi.
Biotope: Sandy substrates at depths of 30 to 140 metres, usually only down to 70 metres.
Geographic distribution: Endemic to Lake Malawi.
Typical adult size: Up to 16 cm SL.
