Protomelas sp. 'virgatus luwala' Luwala Reef

Genus:	Protomelas
Biotope:	Observed over sandy substrate at a depth of about 20 m at a rocky reef.
Geographic distribution:	Recorded only once at Luwala Reef in Lake Malawi.
Diet:	Individuals were observed picking at the sand.
Breeding:	No interactions between sexes were observed and no males in breeding coloration have been recorded.
Special notes:	A very poorly known form documented from a single observation only; it has not been recorded again.
