Rhamphochromis sp. 'kingiri dwarf' Lake Kingiri
Genus: Rhamphochromis
Biotope: Crater lake environment; occurs in the open water of Lake Kingiri.
Geographic distribution: Confined to crater Lake Kingiri in Tanzania.
Typical adult size: Averages about 7 cm standard length at maturity; some breeding males measure less than 6 cm standard length.
Diet: Piscivorous.
Special notes: Undescribed taxon and the smallest known member of the genus Rhamphochromis. Reported to be abundant in Lake Kingiri, where it represents a dwarf pelagic predator within this otherwise predominantly large-bodied lineage.
