Genus: Labidochromis
Biotope: Rocky sections of reef habitats.
Geographic distribution: Southern Lake Malawi; recorded from Chidunga Rocks.
Typical adult size: Up to 9 cm.
Recommended aquarium size: Minimum aquarium length 110 cm, or at least 250 L.
Diet: Feeding behavior comparable to insectivorous species, although gut content analyses of gigas-like Labidochromis indicate algae as the predominant food item.
Aggression: Territoriality has not been observed.
Special notes: Member of the gigas-like Labidochromis group. Females are overall brown without black markings, with brown fins. This form is restricted to a geographically isolated reef location.
