Genus: Iodotropheus
Type locality: Coast north of Nsinje River, ca. 1 km south of the Mozambique border (near Gome), Lake Malawi, Malawi.
Geographic distribution: Lake Malawi.
Typical adult size: Up to about 10 cm.
Recommended aquarium size: Minimum 200 liters; aquarium length at least 100 cm.
