Genus: Pseudotropheus
Biotope: Rocky habitat with caves formed by large rocks.
Geographic distribution: Recorded from Kirondo, north of the Ruhuhu River in Tanzania, Lake Malawi.
Sexual dimorphism: Females are dark brown and show a black submarginal band in the dorsal fin.
Special notes: A member of the Pseudotropheus elongatus complex with a very dark brown coloration and general resemblance to Pseudotropheus elongatus. It has been observed in caves formed by large rocks.
