Genus: Chindongo
Biotope: Rocky to intermediate habitat. Likely associated with rocky areas where sediment may be present.
Geographic distribution: Mozambique coast of Lake Malawi.
Typical adult size: Unknown (likely similar to other members of the elongatus complex).
Recommended aquarium size: 300 L or larger.
Aquarium setup: Rock-dominated layout with many caves and crevices. Provide clear territorial boundaries and visual barriers.
Diet: Primarily herbivorous, feeding on aufwuchs. Likely supplements diet with small invertebrates.
Breeding: Unknown; presumed maternal mouthbrooder as in other Chindongo species.
Aggression: Presumed highly aggressive and territorial, comparable to other elongatus-complex forms.
Special notes: Poorly documented brown color variant of the elongatus complex. Taxonomic status remains unresolved and may overlap with other elongatus-like populations from the Mozambique coast.
