Genus: Labidochromis
Biotope: Rocky habitat associated with gigas-like Labidochromis, comparable to sediment-free rocky environments.
Geographic distribution: Lake Malawi; recorded between Lupingu and Magunga.
Typical adult size: Up to 9 cm.
Recommended aquarium size: Minimum aquarium length 110 cm, or at least 250 L.
Diet: Feeding behavior similar to insectivorous species; analyses of gigas-like Labidochromis indicate algae as the predominant item in the gut.
Special notes: Gigas-like form closely resembling Labidochromis sp. ‘gigas chilumba’. Unlike most other large gigas-like Labidochromis, this form is not restricted to reefs or islands and is not geographically isolated.
