Genus: Pseudotropheus
Biotope: Rocky habitat north of the Ruhuhu River in Tanzania.
Geographic distribution: Recorded from Makonde, north of the Ruhuhu River in Tanzania, Lake Malawi.
Sexual dimorphism: Females are dark brown and exhibit a black submarginal band in the dorsal fin.
Diet: Observed feeding from plankton in the water column.
Special notes: Provisionally placed in Pseudotropheus. The presence of a black submarginal band in females distinguishes it from elongate members of Metriaclima occurring in sediment-free rocky habitats.
