Genus: Labidochromis
Biotope: Purely rocky areas; occurs within the gigas-like group typically associated with sediment-free rocky habitats.
Geographic distribution: Lake Malawi; recorded from Cobwé, Mozambique.
Typical adult size: Up to 9 cm.
Recommended aquarium size: Minimum aquarium length 110 cm, or at least 250 L.
Diet: Feeding behavior similar to insectivorous species; analyses of gigas-like Labidochromis indicate algae as the predominant item in the gut.
Aggression: Territoriality has not been observed.
Special notes: Member of the gigas-like Labidochromis group. Females are overall brown without black markings, with brown fins. Occurs in very small, geographically isolated populations.
