Genus: Mylochromis
Biotope: Intermediate habitat.
Geographic distribution: Lake Malawi: Mbenji and Maleri Islands.
Typical adult size: Usually more than 18 cm.
Special notes: This large hap is recognized by very strong lips and a feeding behavior in which it forcefully rams the snout into coarse gravel of its preferred habitat. Neither breeding males nor mouthbrooding females have been observed.
