Genus: Pseudotropheus
Biotope: Deep rocky reef habitat at Three Peaks Reef, where large boulders rise from about 40 m depth to approximately 30 m below the surface.
Geographic distribution: Endemic to Three Peaks reef between Zimbabwe Rock and Mumbo Island, Lake Malawi.
Diet: Feeds from plankton in the water column; males remain closer to the rocks than females while feeding.
Aggression: Appears less aggressive than similar-sized elongate cichlids in the upper rocky habitat; territorial males were not observed.
Special notes: A dwarf Pseudotropheus that is uncommon at the reef and appears to be restricted to this locality.
