Genus: Pseudotropheus
Biotope: Rocky habitat.
Geographic distribution: Restricted to Kande Island in Lake Malawi.
Special notes: This form lacks a dark submarginal band in the dorsal fin. It is distinctly more elongate than Pseudotropheus minutus and represents a separate species, closely related to Pseudotropheus perspicax.
