Genus: Petrotilapia
Geographic distribution: Recorded at Likoma Island.
Sexual dimorphism: Males show variable blue body coloration ranging from sky blue to navy blue, always with a metallic sheen. Females light brown to dark brown with a faint nigra-type pigmentation pattern.
Special notes: Belongs to the nigra-type Petrotilapia. Named for the variability in male blue body coloration.
