10 cm standard length.
Special notes:
Placidochromis borealis is included in group 5 of the deep-living Placidochromis
assemblage, a set defined by species possessing 11–13 gill rakers. The deep-water
Placidochromis form a distinct assemblage that lives and breeds in dimly lit depths and has
not been observed in the lake’s accessible shallow waters.
