Genus: Pseudotropheus
Biotope: Rocky habitat.
Geographic distribution: Known from Chiloelo, Chinuni and Minos Reef.
Special notes: Similar in shape to Pseudotropheus sp. ‘variable eastern’, but distinguished by a black submarginal band in the dorsal fin. In Pseudotropheus sp. ‘variable mozambique’ this band remains separate, whereas in the sympatric Pseudotropheus sp. ‘minutus mozambique’ the vertical bars extend into the dorsal fin and merge with the band.
