Genus: Tropheops
Biotope: Sediment-free rocky habitats, associated with small to medium-sized rocks.
Geographic distribution: Occurs along the eastern mainland coast of Lake Malawi between Chuanga and Meponda.
Aggression: Belongs to the elongate Tropheops forms, which are generally less aggressive and less shy than elongate species retained in Pseudotropheus.
Special notes: An elongate southern Tropheops species, formerly included in the Pseudotropheus elongatus group. It is the only elongate form recorded along the eastern coast between Chuanga and Meponda.
