Genus: Tropheops
Biotope: Sediment-free rocky habitats in the southern half of Lake Malawi.
Geographic distribution: Occurs in rocky environments between the Nsinje River and Malopa along the southeastern part of Lake Malawi.
Aggression: Males are weakly territorial; the species may occur in relatively high numbers in suitable habitats.
Special notes: A tiny, mainly black elongate member of Tropheops, closely related to Tropheops kamtambo, formerly known as Tropheops sp. ‘elongatus reef’, but consistently different in coloration.
